The butterfly has always fascinated us. Watching it fly with such grace, delicacy, and beauty is breathtaking. It flutters and glides around softly in all of its radiant color and essence to share with the world. We love to run with them as they fly, try to catch them while dancing, and if we are lucky, one could land on our finger.
Butterflies live in the moment. They fly, dart, glide, and sip the nectar from the flowers. They seem to love life, and why wouldn’t they, after everything they have endured? You can feel their strength, just being in their presence. They are pure, and we delight in watching them.
Looking at this mystical creature, you would never know the journey it has been on.
The Metamorphosis of the Butterfly
The caterpillar instinctively knows that it has to shed its skin to become its best self. It will begin to shed its skin and replace it with a beautiful silky chrysalis to protect it while going through this incredible transformation. Once wrapped in its cozy, soft chrysalis, its cells will begin to break down through enzymes and hormones. At this stage, it will turn into pure liquid before it starts rebuilding its incredible self.
Not a drop of this liquid escapes the chrysalis, and it is needed to transmute from the old self into the new self. Every single cell of the caterpillar is essential in this metamorphosis.
The butterfly will start to form, and the true beauty begins.
Shedding Your Old Skin
Our journey can feel similar to the butterfly. It is through our release of old negative beliefs and thought patterns that we find our true selves. In our sanctuary, similar to the chrysalis, we can nurture ourselves and release those behaviors from our past.
Experiences from our past formed us, and the negative patterns we learned served their purpose at the time. Allowing those moments to bring us to this place right now and standing with them in gratitude. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them. Our new self will no longer need those beliefs to feel safe, and they no longer serve us. It is time to transmute them and understand them to step into our highest self fully.
Visualize the butterfly and how miraculous it is. Picture yourself being that free, able to share yourself, and to know what gifts you bring to this world. Imagine how it will feel to be in your light and all your glory. While you are working on your inner child and shadow self, it can be comforting and encouraging to have these thoughts. Digging into our negatives beliefs is challenging work, and I want you to know that it will all be worth it.
This week, start picturing your highest self. Visualize the moment that you step into your light. Ask yourself some questions.
What do you look like?
What is important to you?
What makes you happy?
How do you feel?
What are you wearing?
Where are you?
Who are you with?
What are you doing?
What inspires you?
Know that you are building your strength to peek your head out and spread your wings. Your highest and best self is calling to you, and they are ready to fly when you are, but there is no hurry. The chrysalis stage can take as long as it needs to take. Your beautiful wings need to develop, and they will be authentically yours, and that takes time.
Until then, see your wings appearing in your mind’s eye. Look at the unique color, the softness, the purity, the authenticity, but most of all, the strength they have. Thinking of this moment gives me chills. I can’t wait for all of us to experience true joy and happiness.
The time is coming that you will see and feel your grace, delicacy, beauty, and radiant color. You will step out unapologetically for the world to see you surrounded by your glowing aura.
